Macarena, affectionately known as 'Maca,' hails from the picturesque region of Patagonia, Chile where she grew up surrounded by breath-taking nature. Her brand Bonita is an ode to her struggles and inner strength, with her products being as colourful and vibrant as her spirit.
In 2015 her adventurous spirit led her to Australia. Initial insecurities about her Chilean accent held her back from pursuing her passion in industrial engineering, leading her to settle for casual jobs instead. When she discovered SisterWorks through a friend, she was inspired by the unity of women from diverse backgrounds and found a sense of belongingness among them.
In 2021, Macarena faced the daunting challenge of breast cancer, but this did not dull her spirit. With SisterWorks’ support, she continued working towards the collective mission and eventually fought cancer.
Bonita was created to empower women like her to embrace their raw beauty and strength daily. Today, she remains a powerful pillar of strength and a true spirit of womanhood.
