Milia is originally from Brazil, where she worked as a Family Nurse in a Community centre and use to make handcrafts as a hobby. When she and her husband moved to Australia because of his work she started making crafts and giving sewing classes for some Brazilian women in Melbourne.
Milia says, "The most difficult part for me was feeling lonely doing my work at home and not being able to give back to the society.
I came to SisterWorks on December 2017, and on January we started with the Dolls project for the crowd-funding campaign where I was able to design the dolls and teach other sisters how to improve their techniques and to learn how to make dolls. It was like the sun brightened in my life again, feeling that I was back to working with the community."
* Please note: All SisterWorks products are individually handmade
with love and therefore the item in stock may differ slightly from
what is pictured.
